SurThrival’s Colostrum Powder: Consume it and Share it With Your Pets

SurThrival bovine colostrum powder has proven, without a doubt, to be the most popular product we carry and recommend to our friends, family, and customers.  Having been in the “alternative health scene” since a young boy, it seems today that as more people are healing their lives and finding balance, just as many are in a degenerative state with serious pain and “problems”.  I like to use the word opportunities instead of problems because today we have access to such incredibly powerful and life-changing products, that I feel any state of imbalance can be rectified.20110402 09371 300x200 Guest Blog: Timmy Matz, of Complete Wellness on SurThrivals Colostrum

SurThrival’s bovine colostrum powder is one of these products.  This is not a theory or part of some philosophical debate.  The scientific research alone is profound enough to quiet oneself and respect its power.  This is not what I am talking about either.  I am talking about direct firsthand experience.  We at Complete Wellness, have witnessed such tremendous breakthroughs with SurThrival’s colostrum that this alone has fueled our inspiration to share the knowledge and experience with others, which in turn brings a product popularity that is unmatched.

It has encouraged many weightlifters and hardcore athletes in the Southern California area to get rid of the isolated, refined, and chemical ridden supplements and protein powders that were causing them just as many complications as pounds gained.  We have not had one negative experience amongst athletes in achieving lean body mass, increased recovery time, and more energy.  One customer, for the first time in over 10 years, did not experience pain in his knees after using Surthrival’s colostrum powder for less than a week.  Of course, all situations and individuals are unique and we at Complete Wellness, as well as SurThrival, make no claims as to what this product will do.  All I am here to do is share my experience with this magnificent superfood with you, so that you can make the educated decision to better yourself.

Share it with Your Pets

Many people are aware of the amazing benefits bovine colostrum powder contributes to human beings.  However, many are not familiar with its application for animal regeneration and longevity. Two of my dogs (both are rescues) never received colostrum as babies.  One is an akita/border collie and the other isa yellow lab.  Both were weak, underdeveloped, and low on energy. After starting them on colostrum powder and leaving to Hawaii for a month, I was excited to return and see what kind of state they were in.  Not to my surprise, both my dogs had changed dramatically.  They looked like new dogs.  They were now strong having gained lean muscle mass with lush flowing hair and tremendous energy!  It was truly amazing.  For those unaware, bovine colostrum powder is not species specific and is optimal for all mammals, including your pets.  It even transformed the life of my Aunt’s cat that was on the verge of death from kidney complications and malnourishment.

SurThrival’s Colostrum is Superior

I have one more major thing to share with you.  We have plenty of customers who had been taking bovine colostrum powder for extended periods of time before finding our company, but from a different supplier.  Interestingly, they did not have much success and were having hard time believing what I was sharing with them about this incredible food.  The issue was (and remains) that not all colostrum products are created equal.  Most bovine colostrum products on the market are heavily processed and/or cut with excipients.

The heavy processing that other companies use destroys all the vital growth and immune factors, while ruining the EFA’s by making them go rancid.  Excipients, or “toxic tag-a-longs”, get in the way of nutrient absorption and bio-availability, as well as being just plain toxic for the body.  It is most important that you can receive the third party verification of your colostrum product, which SurThrival has for their Colostrum, to ensure no hormones, chemicals, or pesticides are used whatsoever in the production or processing.

This will also verify the amount of fat present, which is another practice many companies use. Other companies de-fat the colostrum, removing important fat-soluble vitamins, growth factors and immune factors along the way.  As far as we are aware, Immune Tree Certified bovine colostrum powder meets these requirements.

It is quite astonishing what state the body is in when deprived of nature’s first food.  Thanks to people like Dr. Anthony Kleinsmith and Daniel Vitalis, we now have available the only third party verified, true six-hour colostrum in its raw, activated form.  I wish you and your loved ones the same success we witness every day at Complete Wellness.  Have a happy day!

How do you know when reached a threash hold on loading colostrum. It says to double the does for a while on the can but does not say how long? Thanks

Surthrival (May 25, 2011)

Hello Michael!

Thanks for your inquiry! We are not sure what you mean by “loading Colostrum.” Do you mean “when you reach a threshold on consuming Colostrum”? In response, to our understanding, a person is not able to “overdose” on Colostrum, as it is an adaptogenic and does not contain any toxic medicinal compounds that require a person to stop using the product at any time, unless they choose to. Many of our customers use the product daily, in small “maintenance” kind of doses, to protect their immunity. Others choose to use the product for awhile and then take a break from it before starting its use again. We always encourage our customers to start with small doses of the product and slowly work their way up to larger doses. Listen to your body while taking the product, as you will know when you have had enough of it and may be ready to take a break from it :)

I hope this information helps to answer your question! We look forward to doing business with you!

Sincerely,

The SurThrival Team

Hi guys, was researching colostrum, can you pls advise what is the best way to take colostrum? will it retain its benefits when mixed in a fruit smoothie? or is it better to take it alone, away from other foods?
Thnx!

Surthrival (Jul 27, 2011)

Hello Kira!

Our favorite way to consume Colostrum is blended into smoothies, just as you mentioned. Consuming Colostrum this way has not been known to detract from its many benefits. While it is simply a recommendation to consume it on an empty stomach, I do not find it to cancel out the Colostrum’s benefits by consuming it with other foods.

We look forward to working with you!

Sincerely,

The SurThrival Team

I would like to know your recommendation on how to feed colostrum to my 3 cats and in what dosage.

TIA

Free-Radical Damage Guy (Aug 19, 2011)

Greetings… I’ve been taking your colostrum mixed with raw honey. Do you see a potential problem here?… Am i possibly harming or denaturing the IGF-1? The reason i ask, is because i’ve using it for 2 months at 2 tsp a day, and i don’t notice any visible improvements yet… Am i doing something wrong?

Free-Radical Damage Guy (Aug 19, 2011)

Free-Radical Damage Guy (again)… One more question. Could you please solve the mystery: Can you please state Daniel Vitalis’ age? If this guy is like a 100 or something, i’m going to ingest a kilo of colostrum a month !… ( = Thanks so much.

Surthrival (Aug 24, 2011)

Daniel’s age is 32 :)

Surthrival (Aug 24, 2011)

Hello Free-Radical Damage Guy!

To our understanding, there is no issue with combining honey with Colostrum. Many of our clients choose to consume it this way and have not noticed any negative issues with doing so.

For some of our clients, the results that they receive from using our Colostrum product are not visible and more subtle. It has been known to have many regenerative and healing effects internally. Try making a facial mask with it, mixing the Colostrum (around a teaspoon) with enough water to turn it into a paste. Apply this to your face and sleep with it on overnight. The results we have experienced from doing this are incredible! It makes our skin baby soft and helps to regenerate our external tissue more quickly, helping clear any blemishes or scars we might have had on our skin.

I hope this information is helpful to you! We appreciate your continued support!

Best wishes,

The SurThrival Team

Surthrival (Aug 24, 2011)

Hello Christine!

Because we are not medical professionals or veterinarians, we are legally unable to provide our clients with direct medical advice. However, I can tell you that we have many clients who have personally decided to feed their pets Colostrum and had great success with doing so. They would simply put the Colostrum directly into their animal’s food bowl, as most pets seem to enjoy eating it just as it is! Some other clients chose to mix it into the animals food. These people were giving the animals around a tablespoon of Colostrum, I believe.

I hope that information is helpful to you!

Best wishes,

The SurThrival Team

Surthrival (Sep 07, 2011)

Hello Gary!

Colostrum contains IgG factors (Immuno-globulins) which have been known to support to the rejuvenation and regeneration of the immune system. Colostrum has been known to provide extra immune support due to these IgG factors. Colostrum is the first substance that most all baby mammals (including humans) consume upon their being born. It is Colostrum that creates the immune system, because the mother passes all of her immune factors to her baby through the Colostrum.

There is more about this topic on the Colostrum page on our website. You can see that here: http://www.surthrival.com/colostrum.html

Hope that information helps!

JB (Sep 09, 2011)

What do you think is the best liquid drink to mix the colostrum with? I find that no matter what I try to mix it with I can’t get it to dissolve. Thanks

Surthrival (Sep 12, 2011)

Hi JB!

Blending it with spring water, coffee, herbal tea, etc. and adding a dash of your choice of sweetener and other superfoods you enjoy makes for a delicious drink! It is not water soluble because our Colostrum is not de-fatted like many other Colostrum products on the market. We believe that the naturally occurring fats in the Colostrum are one of its most nutritious components!

Enjoy your drink making!

Sincerely,

The SurThrival Team

CN Morrow (Sep 23, 2011)

Can you please tell me if the quality and efficacy of colostrum is dependent on “shelf life/use by date” ? I bought some from an “alternative” vet (another distributor but human grade that had an expiration date 4 mos after I bought it and it will take a year to use it up with a small cat being the one receiving it?

Thank you

Suzanne Gelb (Sep 25, 2011)

Looks like a fantastic product! Do you have any experience and/or knowledge of Colostrum being helpful with Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth?

Thanks so much.

bertram (Sep 26, 2011)

Can the Colostrum powder be taken sublingually for better absorption. Very interested in the product. Thanx.

Vicki (Oct 03, 2011)

Am a little concerned about the taste of the powder. Are the capsules as effective?

Thanks!

Camille (Oct 09, 2011)

Hi, I was wondering whether it’s possible to ferment your colostrum- like a kind of kefir? I assume it’s possible to ferment fresh colostrum, so I was just curious whether it could be done!
Thank you for a wonderful product!

McKale (Nov 03, 2011)

Hey Surthrival Team,
I am considering buying some Colostrum to try out. How is Colostrum different from the one-a-day multivitamin. Thank you in advance!

Deb (Nov 08, 2011)

Hi there

I am particularly interested in your Colostrum product. Apart from the massive internal benefits I was wondering whether you have had any experience with it fading/clearing up melasma or pigmentation of the face?

Look forward to hearing from you soon :-)

Surthrival (Nov 08, 2011)

Hello Bertram!

Colostrum is entirely bioavailable on its own and has been known to be easily absorbed without any special kind of dosing methods so sublingual dosing is not necessary :)

Best,

The SurThrival Team

Hello Suzanne!

I have emailed along some documents regarding your question to the email address provided with your contact name here.

Surthrival (Nov 09, 2011)

Hello CN Morrow!

Thank you for your inquiry!

Our colostrum product has an indefinite shelf life, as it is dried into a rich powder form which eliminates any and all moisture that could cause it to go off. It does not need to be refrigerated. I do, however, recommend storing it in a cool and dark place, as excessive heat or direct sunlight can cause it to go off. Assuming it is stored in these proper conditions, the Colostrum should remain entirely effective.

I hope this helps to clarify your questions! Please let me know if I may further assist you in any way.

Best,

The SurThrival Team

Surthrival (Nov 09, 2011)

Hello Vicki!

The Colostrum capsules are just as effective as the Colostrum powder – The only difference between the two is that with the capsules, they are simply the powder encapsulated to provide a different delivery system for those who prefer it.

Sincerely,

The SurThrival Team

Surthrival (Nov 09, 2011)

Hello Camille!

We have never personally tried fermenting our Colostrum product so we can not speak to this from a place of experience. However, since our Colostrum is spray dried into a dense powder form so that it can be stored and remain good for a long time, it might not do so well fermented since it is not in liquid form.

Sincerely,

The SurThrival Team

Surthrival (Nov 09, 2011)

Hello McKale,

Colostrum is very different from a multi-vitamin, as it contains naturally occurring beneficial fats, probiotics, a wide range of amino acids, and broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals. I will e-mail you our Nutrients and Analysis testing document which breaks down the nutrient content of our Colostrum product.

We look forward to working with you!

Sincerely,

The SurThrival Team

Surthrival (Nov 09, 2011)

Hello Deb,

Because we are not health professionals, we are unfortunately unable to offer direct medical advice to our clients. However, I can tell you that we have had many clients who use our Colostrum to make skin masks which they apply to their face or whichever part of the body they desire and have told use that they received massive benefits from it. They made the mask through mixing Colostrum with water until it created a kind of paste that could be easily spread over the skin.

I hope that helps to answer your question!

Sincerely,

The SurThrival Team

KAREN RICHARDS (Nov 26, 2011)

I have a question on colostrum, do you recommend taking the capsules as well as the powder? Do they work in different ways in the body?

Surthrival (Nov 30, 2011)

Hello Karen!

The Colostrum Capsules and the Colostrum Powder are actually one in the same – The Capsules are just the powder encapsulated, to provide our clients with a different delivery method for consumption, as some prefer this. To our understanding, neither one nor the other is more effective as they are the same product.

Sincerely,

The SurThrival Team

Mario (Dec 06, 2011)

I wanted to inquire about how to use your colostrum as a pack for the gums. I heard you speak on Radio One Network and you spoke of a woman who had gotten some nice results from using the colostrum on her gums. Can you outline how a pack such as this would be done. I am working on recovering from a long term vegetarian/vegan diet and my teeth, gums, and health have suffered horribly. Thank you.

Surthrival (Dec 09, 2011)

Hello Mario,

Our understanding is that this woman simply took large amounts of Colostrum and manually covered her gums with it. The Colostrum is sticky, so it sticks to the gums easily when it is applied there. It of course naturally dissolves, so I believe this woman would apply it to her gums at night and allow it to dissolve over the course of her sleep.

I hope that helps to answer your question!

Sincerely,

The Surthrival Team

What are the health benefits in regards to GI isssues? My mother recently had colitis and is has been dealing w/ IBS for years. I was looking into getting Colostrum for her to see if it could help w/ those “opportunities”.

Surthrival (Dec 14, 2011)

Hello Eric!

I just e-mailed you a couple of educational documents regarding Colostrum and the health challenges that you mentioned above. I trust they will give you further insight into how Colostrum may be supportive in regard to those health challenges.

Please let me know if we may further assist you in any way!
